Development put on hold

Monday, August 13, 2007

A storm is coming. We’re getting the absolute last parts of the presentation nailed down, and will stop developing the service as of tuesday. We have lots and lots to practise on, we’re moving out of the apartment and I need to get all my stuff in order for the journey back to Sweden. That includes buying another suitcase, for one.

The slides I’ve created for the Intense Debate presentation actually turned out pretty good, I’m especially proud of some of the illustrations. I hope to show them off here some day when I have some spare time.

The latest presentation practise

Thursday, August 9, 2007

We did our presentation practise again this evening, and it actually went really well. There will always be some last minute tweaking, naturally, but it feels like we’re finally wrapping it up. I can’t wait to get it over with, and actually be able to focus on the website and the widgets again!

One bad thing is that I need to convert the whole presentation to Keynote now. Unfortunately the TechStars people don’t want us to use .ppt’s on Investor Day. Which is strange, because they said that it would be ok all the way up till now. Shit happens, I guess.

…And please, use the comment system for this post! We desperately need YOUR input to make it the best comment system ever to hit the market! Feel free to send me an email (me at isaackeyet dot com) or simply add me to your IM (ievolver at gmail dot com) if you have suggestions or complaints.

Rough days (and nights)

Wednesday, August 8, 2007

This is crazy. This is the second night in a row that I don’t sleep at all during the night, and instead go to sleep around 10am (in 20mins). We just need to get finished, and then there are no excuses… Too bad, I’m dying for 8hrs of sleep.

This night the presentation was somewhat finished. It still needs some tweaking, and I know we’ll probably end up changing parts, but all in all the major checkpoints are all reached.

In 8,5 hours we will be presenting the whole thing on a practise session. Can’t wait!

Widgets

Monday, August 6, 2007

I’ve spent all night long hashing out two widgets for Intense Debate. Perhaps I shouldn’t tell too much about them, but they have been requested… We’re hoping to put them out tomorrow already, provided the rest of the process runs smoothly (but it never seems to, does it?).

The interesting thing, at least to me, about those widgets is their scaling capabilites. They supply a somewhat complicated structure, that still looks OK at 100px width! The Intense Debate logo scales itself to fit the width, up to one point, and then centers. Pretty sleek in my opinion. Can’t wait to show them off here somewhere!

Alright, here we go

Monday, August 6, 2007

So here I am, making another attempt to actually start producing content. This time it’s mostly because I want my Intense Debate Comments (www.intensedebate.com) to display somewhere where I can admire them regularly.

In other news, Boulder and Colorado is great. I could really settle down here at some point, question is just when. One thing I really enjoy, that I haven’t done lately, is to walk by the Boulder Creek. It’s a beautiful cycling and walking track.

Design update

Peter gave some helpful tips, and I’ve updated some. The front page is still the only one that looks good though, will have to work more on this when I got time.

Professional Help

Sunday, May 13, 2007

I am now getting my dear friend Peter Simonsson of www.simonsson.com to look at the blog, and hopefully give some positive input before I proceed further. Bear with me!

Testing another line just to see how it looks…

The blog is up

It took me some good time to get the design display somewhat correctly, but for now I think this look will do just fine. I’ll keep on designing the sub pages and whatnot, perhaps I’ll post about progress here… I also need to find a javascript so my PNG-24 will display i older browsers too.
